The Copenhagen Half Marathon, despite having been held for only a few years, is a world-famous half marathon for its fast route, which has put the capital of Denmark on the world running map. A city and an event that have seen several world records in the half marathon distance, like in 2019 where Kamworor demonstrated it to the whole world.

But not only elite athletes have achieved great times in this flat city and have known how to take advantage of the fast course. Amateur runners from all over the world travel every year to improve their times and get the best of themselves for an unforgettable experience. The Copenhagen half marathon has a route where wide roads prevail and without large agglomerations, which together with the few turns and being flat create ideal conditions for a pleasant and unforgettable run.

This half marathon is different compared to other urban half marathons as it features a course that runs through all the main districts of Copenhagen, the historic city center and the majestic city of Frederiksberg. A tour that makes the race a unique tourist experience full of attractions. Also, you will never run alone, the whole city will cheer you on, supporting you from start to finish.

The Copenhagen Half Marathon is part of the SuperHalfs circuit together with the Lisbon, Prague, Berlin, Cardiff and Valencia half marathons. All these events were chosen, among other details, for being a Gold Label Road Race by the World Athletics, and for being events where world distance records have been broken or for hosting the World Half Marathon Championship.

The SuperHalfs circuit is a great way to travel to these excellent races and beautiful cities. And completing the course is rewarded by both the organizers and us.

When you complete the circuit, the organization will give you the SuperMedal, but if you also travel with us to all these events to complete the circuit, we will give you a special gift so you can celebrate your achievement and enjoy like a great SuperFinisher.

Thanks to the start time of the event, there is no need to get up very early on the day of the event, but you must take into account sleeping and resting enough the night before and, above all, not trusting the time to get up.
Despite the event being held in mid-September, the temperature in Copenhagen is usually cold and pleasant, although there were issues of rain and some issues of heat
The route is practically flat but there are a couple of slightly steep climbs that you should not fear.
Denmark is a country that belongs to the Schengen Area, this means that if you travel from a country that belongs to this same space, you will not need a passport or visa to enter the country. On the other hand, its currency is NOT the Euro.

Cancellations can be made in writing subject to the following conditions:

Registration

Personal, non-transferable and NON-REFUNDABLE, due to the rules of the event organizers.

Hotel

Until March 31st: the amounts paid shall be refunded without penalty except for a handling fee of 50€ per person.
From April 1st: cancellation shall incur a 25% penalty.
From June 1st: cancellation shall incur a 50% penalty.
From July 1st: cancellation shall incur a 75% penalty.
From August 1st: cancellation shall incur a penalty of up to 100% depending on the date of the request and our suppliers’ policy.

Flights

Airline tickets shall be reimbursed according to the booking conditions established by the airline.

At Travelmarathon we know that many of the runners prefer to book their flights on their own, whatever the reason, so we won’t give you any problems if you decide to book the flights on your own, although we can always help you manage them according to your needs and include them in the package.

If you want to include them in the final package, you just have to tell us the city from where you would like to travel and the time of day, and we will find the best option for your needs.

The airport to travel to Copenhagen is Copenhagen Airport (CPH), the largest in Denmark and is located on the island of Amager.

About 10km southeast of the city, the connection with the city is good as it is connected to the city by means of public transport and taxis.

One of the most important needs for the runner is a good night’s rest to be ready for the running day. That is why at Travelmarathon we work to always offer the best options.

Our experience in traveling and running, in addition to our knowledge of the city, means that the options offered always try to satisfy the vast majority of runners and their companions.

For the Copenhagen Half Marathon, Travelmarathon has selected the following hotels so that the runners can enjoy the trip.

The Square 4*

Featuring a rooftop terrace, this eco-friendly hotel is situated on Rådhuspladsen, just 200 metres from Tivoli Gardens and Copenhagen Central Station. Views of Copenhagen rooftops are featured from the breakfast room and The Lounge rooftop bar.

All rooms at The Square feature minimalistic design, a steamer, a safety box and air conditioning. A flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a minibar and a writing desk come standard in each room.

Guests can enjoy a drink at The Square's trendy lobby bar. Free WiFi is available throughout the hotel. The common lounge also includes a TV, newspapers and a selection of magazines.

Strøget shopping street begins 150 metres from the hotel. Restaurants, bars, cafes and shopping are all within walking distance.

This central hotel is just 250 metres from Kongens Nytorv. It offers free Wi-Fi and modern rooms with private bathrooms. Strøget and Nyhavn are both within 5 minutes’ walk. A flat-screen TV, desk and bathroom with a shower are provided in all Wakeup Copenhagen – Borgergade rooms. Some feature city views. The 24-hour lobby bar has a variety of drinks and snacks available for purchase. Guests can enjoy free internet access on the guest computers in Wakeup Copenhagen’s reception.
