One of the fastest half marathons in the world

The EDP Meia Maratona de Lisboa is part of the SuperHalfs circuit and is a Gold Label Road Race by World Athletics. It is one of the most important international half marathons and the place where in 2021 the athlete Jacob Kiplimo broke the world record for the distance in the men’s category with a time of 57:31.

A nice route, practically flat, which allows beginner runners in the distance to achieve their goal and more experienced runners to beat their best time.

In addition, a parallel 10K is held, with the start and finish in the same place as the half marathon, which is perfect for companions or runners who are not prepared to face a half marathon.

The start line of the event could not be better located, in the Praça da Portagem of the 25 de Abril Bridge, where only runners will be able to access thanks to the transport proposed by the organization. After a few kilometers to leave the bridge, the race heads towards the Alcântara district where the runners will begin to enjoy the views offered by running on the banks of the Tajo River, to return towards the Belém Tower until they reach the finish line located in front to the Jerónimos Monastery.

Lisbon is the capital of Portugal and is a city full of life and culture with a great maritime influence and great gastronomy. A pleasant and welcoming city, both for those who want to do tourism and those who want to play sports, as is precisely our case.

The Lisbon Half Marathon is part of the SuperHalfs circuit together with the Prague, Berlin, Copenhagen, Cardiff and Valencia half marathons. All these events were chosen, among other details, for being a Gold Label Road Race by the World Athletics, and for being events where world distance records have been broken or for hosting the World Half Marathon Championship.

The SuperHalfs circuit is a great way to travel to these excellent races and beautiful cities. And completing the course is rewarded by both the organizers and us.

When you complete the circuit, the organization will give you the SuperMedal, but if you also travel with us to all these events to complete the circuit, we will give you a special gift so you can celebrate your achievement and enjoy like a great SuperFinisher.

The event starts at the 25 de Abril Bridge and the only way to reach it is the transport offered by the organisers. There is no other way to get there.
There is no bag drop service, so it is recommendable to bring an old piece of clothing that you can leave on the side of the course at the start to protect yourself from the cold and/or wind later.
The course is very fast, so runners should keep up the pace on the way down from the bridge.
The finish line is located in the Belém district, an area that is connected to the city centre by tram or bus.
The Lisbon Airport is very well connected by metro, so you will have no problem getting to the hotel and back to the airport.

Single payment: pay the total amount when the booking is confirmed.

Two installments: pay in 2 interest-free installments.

First installment: 25% when your booking is confirmed.
Second installment: remaining 75% 45 days after your booking is confirmed.

Three installments: pay in 3 interest-free installments.

First installment: 25% when your booking is confirmed.
Second installment: 50% 30 days after your booking is confirmed.
Last installment: remaining 25% 60 days after your booking is confirmed.

Cancellations can be made in writing subject to the following conditions:

Registration

Personal, non-transferable and NON-REFUNDABLE, due to the rules of the event organizers.

Hotel

Until October 31st: the amounts paid shall be refunded without penalty except for a handling fee of 50€ per person.
From November 1st: cancellation shall incur a 25% penalty.
From December 1st: cancellation shall incur a 50% penalty.
From January 1st: cancellation shall incur a 75% penalty.
From Febraury 1st: cancellation shall incur a penalty of up to 100% depending on the date of the request and our suppliers’ policy.

Flights

Airline tickets shall be reimbursed according to the booking conditions established by the airline.

At Travelmarathon we know that many of the runners prefer to book their flights on their own, whatever the reason, so we won’t give you any problems if you decide to book the flights on your own, although we can always help you manage them according to your needs and include them in the package.

If you want to include them in the final package, you just have to tell us the city from where you would like to travel and the time of day, and we will find the best option for your needs.

The airport to travel to Lisbon is Lisbon Airport (LIS) located in the urban area between Loures and Lisbon and 7km north of the city. It is very well connected to the city by public transport and a taxi rank.
