The Chicago Marathon is renowned for its fast, flat course that winds through some of the most iconic landmarks of one of the world’s most remarkable cities. Starting and finishing in the picturesque Grant Park, this event provides runners with stunning views of Chicago and a chance to explore its vibrant neighborhoods.

Designed for personal bests and record-breaking performances, this marathon attracts elite athletes and amateur runners alike. The circular course takes participants through 29 iconic neighborhoods, beginning in the Loop just north of Grant Park, heading to Sheridan Road in the north, then west along Damen Avenue, and finally south to 35th Street before returning to Grant Park.

This event offers more than just a race; it’s an experience that blends athletic challenge with the rich culture and architectural beauty of Chicago, making it a must for any dedicated runner.

The Chicago Marathon is part of the Abbott World Marathon Majors, alongside the Tokyo, London, Boston, Sydney, Berlin, and New York Marathons. Together with the Boston and New York Marathons, it is one of the circuit’s three events held in the United States.

The Abbott World Marathon Majors is a prestigious series for marathon runners, launched in 2006 to promote the sport and inspire greater participation among athletes. Runners who complete the original circuit earn the Six Star Finisher Medal as a mark of distinction. With the addition of new events, the circuit will soon introduce the Nine Star Medal, offering even greater recognition for completing the expanded series.

The start/finish area is located in Grant Park, which is a very large area to avoid overcrowding. Make sure you arrive with enough time to make it to your access door, go through security, leave your bag in the cloakroom and get to the starting boxes.
The course is fast and flat, but you should always bear in mind that this perceived speed can be a problem from the middle point of the race, where there are some small inclines.
You need a valid ESTA to travel to the US as well the passport.
The official website for issuing ESTA is https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/ . There is no other official one, only the one we indicate, any other web page is not the official one.

Two installments: pay in 2 interest-free installments.

First installment: 25% when your booking is confirmed.
Second installment: remaining 75% 45 days after your booking is confirmed.

Three installments: pay in 3 interest-free installments.

First installment: 25% when your booking is confirmed.
Second installment: 50% 30 days after your booking is confirmed.
Last installment: remaining 25% 60 days after your booking is confirmed.

Four installments: pay in 4 interest-free installments.

First installment: 25% when your booking is confirmed.
Second installment: 30% 30 days after your booking is confirmed.
Third installment: 30% 60 days after your booking is confirmed.
Last installment: remaining 15% 90 days after your booking is confirmed.

* For bookings made less than 90/60/30 days before the date of the event, payment in installments may be subject to different terms or not be available.

Cancellations can be made in writing subject to the following conditions:

Registration

Personal, non-transferable and NON-REFUNDABLE, due to the rules of the event organizers.

Hotel

Until April 30th: the amounts paid shall be refunded without penalty except for a handling fee of 100€ per person.
From May 1st: cancellation shall incur a 25% penalty.
From July 1st: cancellation shall incur a 50% penalty.
From August 1st: cancellation shall incur a 75% penalty.
From September 1st: cancellation shall incur a penalty of up to 100% depending on the date of the request and our suppliers’ policy.

Flights

Airline tickets shall be reimbursed according to the booking conditions established by the airline.

At Travelmarathon, we understand that many runners prefer to arrange their flights independently for various reasons. That’s why we offer complete flexibility: if you decide to book your flights on your own, there will be no issue. However, if you’d like assistance, we’re more than happy to help you arrange them and include them in your travel package according to your preferences.

If you prefer to add flights to your package, all we need is your departure city and preferred time frame, and we’ll find the best option suited to your needs.

The airport to travel to Chicago is the Chicago-O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and is one of the busiest airports in the world, thus being one of the main airports in the country. new and large airport with multiple international connections.

It is located in the northwest of the city, about 27km away, and is very well connected by public transport and a taxi rank to get to the city.
