The TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS is now officially the seventh Major, joining this prestigious international marathon circuit starting in 2025. Recognized as a World Athletics Platinum Label event, it stands out not only for its exceptional organization but also for what it offers runners, making it one of the best marathons in the world.

Since its inaugural edition in 2001, following the Sydney 2000 Olympics, the marathon has grown to become Australia’s most important race, attracting elite runners and running enthusiasts from around the globe. Featuring an iconic course that passes landmarks like the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House, this marathon offers a unique experience that blends sport, culture, and community. It has solidified its status as a world-class event with a festive, high-energy atmosphere.

The TCS Sydney Marathon route offers a one-of-a-kind experience, allowing you to run across the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge, free of traffic, and finish at the world-famous Sydney Opera House, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. El Abbott Marathon Majors es un circuito para corredores de maratón que comenzó en 2006 con la idea de promover el deporte y aumentar el interés de los corredores. Y los corredores que completan el circuito inicial recibirán la Six Star Finisher Medal como reconocimiento a la espera de presentar el nuevo circuito con su nueva medalla de Nine Star cuando se añadan nuevas pruebas al mismo.

The official currency in Australia is the Australian Dollar (AUD), so if you are traveling from a country with a different currency, don’t worry as we have the perfect solution for you.

We can show you the easiest way to exchange the exact currency amount you need so that you don’t have to exchange large amounts to be able to travel or pay extortionate fees.

We also offer another option to use local ATMs without fees and pay in stores with the local currency. You can then exchange any remaining amount that you haven’t used back into your local currency so that you don’t have to spend it all before going back home.

PAYMENT METHODS

Single payment: pay the total amount when the booking is confirmed.

Two installments: pay in 2 interest-free installments.

First installment: 25% when your booking is confirmed.
Second installment: remaining 75% 45 days after your booking is confirmed.

Three installments: pay in 3 interest-free installments.

First installment: 25% when your booking is confirmed.
Second installment: 50% 30 days after your booking is confirmed.
Last installment: remaining 25% 60 days after your booking is confirmed.

Four installments: pay in 4 interest-free installments.

First installment: 25% when your booking is confirmed.
Second installment: 30% 30 days after your booking is confirmed.
Third installment: 30% 60 days after your booking is confirmed.
Last installment: remaining 15% 90 days after your booking is confirmed.

* For bookings made less than 90/60/30 days before the date of the event, payment in installments may be subject to different terms or not be available.

Cancellations can be made in writing subject to the following conditions:

Registration

Personal, non-transferable and NON-REFUNDABLE, due to the rules of the event organizers.

Hotel

Until February 28th: the amounts paid shall be refunded without penalty except for a handling fee of 200€ per person.
From March 1st: cancellation shall incur a 25% penalty.
From April 1st: cancellation shall incur a 50% penalty.
From May 1st: cancellation shall incur a 75% penalty.
From June 1st: cancellation shall incur a penalty of up to 100% depending on the date of the request and our suppliers’ policy.

Flights

Airline tickets shall be reimbursed according to the booking conditions established by the airline.

At Travelmarathon, we understand that many runners prefer to arrange their flights independently for various reasons. That’s why we offer complete flexibility: if you decide to book your flights on your own, there will be no issue. However, if you’d like assistance, we’re more than happy to help you arrange them and include them in your travel package according to your preferences.

In addition, on this occasion, we are offering the opportunity to include flight options departing from Madrid or Barcelona when booking your travel package. The flight details are as follows:

The airport for flying to Sydney is Sydney Kingsford Smith International Airport (SYD), located in the Mascot neighborhood, 12km south of the city. It is the largest airport in Australia in terms of passenger numbers, with three terminals and three runways.

The airport offers good access to public transportation, including direct train and bus services, as well as a taxi stand for easy access to the city.
