A balcony to the Baltic

The Adidas Stockholm Marathon, a World Athletics Road Running Label category event, is one of the great marathons held in the so characteristic Baltic countries that will take you through the streets of this beautiful European capital built on 14 islands.

A marathon that offers spectacular views of a unique city with a varied landscape, which includes nature and an well preserved medieval town centre. Hundred of runners run the city thanks to the encouragement of the Swedes until an unforgettable finish at the Olympic Stadium, home to 83 officially recognized athletics world records. No other stadium in the world comes close to that number, and with luck and training, you could set your own record by finishing this beautiful marathon.

The marathon route is basically two laps, one bigger than the other, through the central areas of Stockholm. The landscapes vary during the race, from the forests of the Djurgården Royal Park to the streets of a big city. The route passes buildings such as the Royal Palace, the City Hall, the Royal Opera House, and the Houses of Parliament.

Much part of the race takes place along beautiful canals. As you pass the Västerbron Bridge, you will enjoy fantastic views of a city with buildings from medieval times to the present day. The altitude difference between the highest and lowest point of the route is 29 meters.

The start of the marathon is located just outside the Olympic Stadium and ends inside it on the running tracks in a stadium full of spectators that witnessed the 1912 Olympic Games.

The official currency in Sweden is the Swedish Krona SEK, so if you are traveling from a country with a different currency, don’t worry as we have the perfect solution for you.

We can show you the easiest way to exchange the exact currency amount you need so that you don’t have to exchange large amounts to be able to travel or pay extortionate fees.

We also offer another option to use local ATMs without fees and pay in stores with the local currency. You can then exchange any remaining amount that you haven’t used back into your local currency so that you don’t have to spend it all before going back home.

The event is held on Saturday at noon, so it is recommended to travel Thursday or, at the latest, Friday morning.
Despite the fact that the race is held in June, the temperature is not usually what we are used to further south for these dates and even if it is hot, it will be milder and more pleasant to run.
The route consists of two laps, a first of about 12km in urban areas and a second of about 30km that vary between natural areas and urban areas.
Sweden is a country that belongs to the Schengen Area, this means that if you travel from a country that belongs to this same space, you will not need a passport or visa to enter the country. On the other hand, its currency is not the Euro.
Not all marathons end inside an Olympic Stadium, so enjoy!

PAYMENT METHODS

Single payment: pay the total amount when the booking is confirmed.

Two installments: pay in 2 interest-free installments.

First installment: 25% when your booking is confirmed.
Second installment: remaining 75% 45 days after your booking is confirmed.

Three installments: pay in 3 interest-free installments.

First installment: 25% when your booking is confirmed.
Second installment: 50% 30 days after your booking is confirmed.
Last installment: remaining 25% 60 days after your booking is confirmed.

Four installments: pay in 4 interest-free installments.

First installment: 25% when your booking is confirmed.
Second installment: 30% 30 days after your booking is confirmed.
Third installment: 30% 60 days after your booking is confirmed.
Last installment: remaining 15% 90 days after your booking is confirmed.

* For bookings made less than 90/60/30 days before the date of the event, payment in installments may be subject to different terms or not be available.

** The travel agency reserves the right to cancel the booked trip in the event of non-compliance with the established payment policy.

Cancellations can be made in writing subject to the following conditions:

Registration

Personal, non-transferable and NON-REFUNDABLE, due to the rules of the event organizers.

Hotel

Until December 31st: the amounts paid shall be refunded without penalty except for a handling fee of 50€ per person.
From January 1st: cancellation shall incur a 25% penalty.
From February 1st: cancellation shall incur a 50% penalty.
From March 1st: cancellation shall incur a 75% penalty.
From April 1st: cancellation shall incur a penalty of up to 100% depending on the date of the request and our suppliers’ policy.

Flights

Airline tickets shall be reimbursed according to the booking conditions established by the airline.

At Travelmarathon we know that many of the runners prefer to book their flights on their own, whatever the reason, so we won’t give you any problems if you decide to book the flights on your own, although we can always help you manage them according to your needs and include them in the package.

If you want to include them in the final package, you just have to tell us the city from where you would like to travel and the time of day, and we will find the best option for your needs.

The main airport to travel to Stockholm is Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN), which is the third largest airport in all of Scandinavia after Copenhagen and Oslo airports.

Located about 42km north of the city, the connection with the city is good as it is connected to the city by means of public transport and taxis.
