There was no world record. There was no record of the race. Even so, Valencia continues to be the city of running. And this is demonstrated by the 28590 finishers of the Valencia Marathon, making it the most crowded in Spain. There is already a record participation.
In addition, 11 national records were also achieved: Israel, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Australia, Rwanda, Uruguay and Indonesia in the men’s category. And Uganda, Czech Republic and Hungary in the women’s category.
Registration for the 2025 edition (also for the Half Marathon) will open on December 11. And surely the bibs will also be sold out in record time.
But don’t worry, because if in your 2025 agenda is the city of running marked in red, contact us.
Sawe and Alemu, winners
As for the winners of the race, they were the debutant Sabastian Sawe with 2:02:05, whom many already baptize as ‘the new Kiptum’. The Kenyan also achieved the best world record of the year. In the women’s category, the Ethiopian Megertu Alemu stopped the clock in 2:16:49.
